내년부터 좌석이 없는 서울 지하철이 생깁니다.
Starting next year, there will be a Seoul subway with no seats.

서울교통공사는 혼잡한 출퇴근 시간을 고려해 보다 효율적으로 공간을 활용하기 위한 조치라고 설명했습니다.
The Seoul Transportation Corporation explained that it is a measure to utilize the space more efficiently in consideration of the busy commuting time.

이에 따라 내년 1월 출퇴근 시간 대 4호선과 7호선 지하철의 2대 칸의 좌석이 사라지게 됩니다.
As a result, seats in two subway cars on Lines 4 and 7 will disappear during rush hours in January next year.

과거 2005년에는 접이식 의자를 설치하기도 했습니다.

그러나 의자 사용을 두고 승객 간의 갈등이 일어나거나 고장이 나기도 하면서 폐지됐습니다.
