한국 정부가 2027년부터 개 식용을 금지하겠다고 밝혔습니다.
The Korean government said it will ban dog eating from 2027.

올해 안에 개의 사육과 도살, 유통, 판매를 모두 금지하는 법안을 만들기로 한 겁니다.
They decided to make a bill within this year to ban all breeding, slaughtering, distribution, and sale of dogs.

폐업 등 업계가 법안에 준비할 수 있도록 유예기간을 두고 실제 단속은 2027년부터 실시한다는 계획입니다.

② ‘난항을 겪다’는 무슨 의미?
: 한국에서 여러 가지 어려움으로 일이 잘 진행되지 않을 때 ‘난항을 겪는다’고 표현합니다. ‘난항’이란 배가 항해할 때 높은 파도 등 어려움이 있다는 의미인데요. 따라서 반대로 순탄한 항해를 의미하는 ‘순항’은 일이 잘 진행되는 상황을 비유적으로 표현하기도 합니다. 

② What does it mean to go through a '난항'?
: When things don't go well in Korea due to various difficulties, it is described as "난항을 겪는다." A '난항' means that there are difficulties such as high waves when sailing the ship.
