2021년 한국에서 외부 요인으로 인한 사망 원인 1위가 자살인 것으로 조사됐습니다.
In 2021, it was found that Korea’s number one cause of death due to external factors was suicide.

질병관리청에 따르면 2021년에 자살로 사망한 사람이 1만 3,352명으로 나타났습니다.
According to the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency, 13,352 people died by suicide in 2021.

하루에 36.6명씩, 39분마다 1명씩 자살로 사망한 겁니다.
That is 36.6 people everyday, and 1 person dying by suicide every 39 minutes.

특히 10~49세의 경우 70% 이상이 자살로 인해 사망했습니다.
Especially among people aged 10 to 49, more than 70% of deaths were due to suicide.

이 통계는 질병 등 내부 요인이 아닌 사고, 재해, 중독 등으로 인한 사망에 대해서만 집계했습니다.
These statistics only count deaths due to accidents, disasters, poisoning, etc., not internal causes such as disease.

① 한국의 자살률
: 한국은 2003년부터 OECD 회원국 중 자살률 1위 국가입니다. 한국의 자살률은 2000년을 기점으로 급증하고 있으며 통계청에 따르면 한국인의 10분의 1일 자살을 생각해본 것으로 나타났습니다. 그중 남성은 경제적인 이유로, 여성은 질환이나 우울감으로 자살하는 경우가 가장 많았습니다.

: Korea has had the highest suicide rate among OECD member countries since 2003. The suicide rate in Korea has been rapidly increasing since 2000, and according to Statistics Korea, one in ten Koreans have considered committing suicide. Among them, men most often committed suicide for economic reasons, and women most often committed suicide due to illness or depression.
